Ahh the Sprinter

People think we're crazy, but this is the best purchase we've made in a long time. The room we have is unimaginable to those not yet in a "van" (we like to refer to her as a truck or rig). Not hearing Allie and Gil shout about who's touching whom or how much space they think they need--which BTW, they were totally crammed in the back seat of our previous wagon with Egan and his car seat--is a luxury I only dreamt about a few weeks ago. Now we have more room than we know what to do with. We're just waiting to get a trailer to hitch up and haul stuff on.

Diesel has it's properties we need to get used to. And it was advised to fill up at a gas station that is frequented by other rigs so we get fresh fuel. I've already almost run out once, but had my trusty co-pilot Molly check in the manual how many miles we had with the light on. We made it, no problem. I've decided it wise to fill up with a quarter tank remaining to avoid such occurrences. Novel idea, no?

Seriously folks. The gas mileage we get with the Sprinter is amazing and we all know diesels run forever if properly cared for. Where we had to fill up every gas-guzzling 300 miles in the wagon, the Sprinter goes 500-plus. Yeah, different tank size...it just feels better.

Needless to say, we get some pretty fun looks as we toodle about town. I even made a few older folks stop in their tracks in the middle of the street the other day. We're talking about tinting the windows as we're a fishbowl on wheels, as well as installing rear speakers. But for now, she's everything we could have ever wanted in a family vehicle.

p.s. Must give credit where credit is due. Allaire is my photographer of the exterior Sprinter.
