You know what I hate?

When international online merchants request the region you're needing service to and/or from and THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is ethnocentrically positioned at the top of the list.

Is it so much to ask of us to go to the bottom of the alphabetical list, where we belong? Or maybe that's not patriotic.

Well they have to accommodate all the "lazy Americans" you know.

Poo!

If it's mostly used by Americans, why not?

The Iowa City site where you can pay traffic tickets has IA at the top of the State popup menu.

Overreacting? I don't really think that retailers put the US on top of their list because of "the belief in the inherent superiority of one's own ethnic group or culture." I would think they would put that on top of the list in order to get superior retail sales, which are shown by statistics, not beliefs. I don't think Albania generates as much income as America.
